[ADDED: WHEREAS, the City of Mitchell was named the Community of the Year at the South Dakota Governor's Conference on Economic Development on February 26, 2025; and] [ADDED: WHEREAS, the award honors the city of Mitchell's ongoing commitment to economic growth, community development, and enhancing the quality of life for residents; and] [ADDED: WHEREAS, Mitchell is home to major economic projects, like the High Plains Processing plant, which will bring significant job opportunities and growth to the region; and] [ADDED: WHEREAS, Mitchell has invested in its workforce by creating an relocation incentive program, which addresses housing and workforce needs and offers resources for individuals willing to relocate to the city;] [ADDED: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the City of Mitchell is the Governor's Office of Economic Development 2025 Community of the Year.] Underscores indicate new language.
