89(1) SR 3 - Enrolled version - Bill Text SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 3 WHEREAS, For 125 years, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 76, has played a crucial role in supporting and advocating for the rights of skilled laborers in San Antonio's entertainment industry; and WHEREAS, Founded in 1893, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) represents behind-the-scenes professionals, including technicians, designers, and stagehands, in a broad spectrum of trades; the alliance encompasses more than 340 local unions and over 168,000 workers, who bring their invaluable technical expertise to bear in countless stage, film, and television productions as well as trade shows and exhibitions across the United States and Canada; and WHEREAS, Driven by their pride in their craft and their commitment to fairness and dignity in the workplace, the members of IATSE Local 76 have built and sustained the success of their chapter for well over a century; the chapter's service area includes such celebrated local cultural venues as the Joci Straus Performing Arts Center, the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, the AT&T Center, and the Witte Museum, and its support for its members extends to an array of payroll, organizational, and online resources; and WHEREAS, IATSE Local 76 has served as a vital force for equity in entertainment, giving voice and power to the …
