A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to the duties of the district attorney for the 1st Judicial District and the creation of the office of district attorney for the 273rd Judicial District. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 43.101, Government Code, is amended to read as follows: Sec. 43.101. 1ST JUDICIAL DISTRICT. The voters of [[DELETED: Sabine ] [DELETED: and]] San Augustine[ADDED: County][[DELETED: counties]] elect a district attorney for the 1st Judicial District who represents the state in[ADDED: the][[DELETED: that]] district[ADDED: courts in that county][[DELETED: court only in those counties]]. SECTION 2. Subchapter B, Chapter 43, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 43.1742 to read as follows: [ADDED: Sec.][ADDED: ][ADDED: 43.1742.][ADDED: ][ADDED: ][ADDED: 273RD JUDICIAL DISTRICT.
