89(2) HR 117 - Enrolled version - Bill Text H.R. No. 117 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Katherine Frances Ferruzzo of Houston will forever cherish their memories of this vibrant and beloved young woman, who was tragically lost in the July 4, 2025, flooding in Kerr County at the age of 19; and WHEREAS, Born on June 21, 2006, to John and Andrea DeLorenzo Ferruzzo, Katherine Ferruzzo grew up with the companionship of two older brothers, Jack and Vincent; during her time at Memorial High School in Houston, she excelled academically and in several leadership roles, serving as a student council representative for four years and as chapter president of the Texas Association of Future Educators; she also distinguished herself through her membership in both the National Honor Society and the English National Honor Society; her dynamic personality earned her the title of "Life of the Party" by her Class of 2025 peers, and she carried that same contagious energy into her role as head of the senior girls' spirit organization; and WHEREAS, Ms. Ferruzzo's acceptance to The University of Texas at Austin was a joyous achievement for her and a proud moment for her parents, both of whom are alumni; inspired by her childhood experience with speech therapy, she planned to pursue a degree in special …
