An Act, COMMENDING SENIOR TROOPER HUNTER WOODRUFF AS A RECIPIENT OF THE 2026 ALABAMA LEGISLATIVE MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT. WHEREAS, it is with the highest commendation that the Legislature of Alabama recognizes Senior Trooper Hunter Woodruff as a recipient of the 2026 Alabama Legislative Meritorious Service Award for Law Enforcement in recognition of extraordinary courage and decisive action in the line of duty; and WHEREAS, on November 12, 2025, while traveling east on Highway 14 in Autauga County, Trooper Woodruff observed a Prattville Police Department vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed with emergency equipment activated; recognizing the urgency of the situation, he immediately activated his own emergency equipment and followed the officer in order to render assistance if needed; and WHEREAS, Trooper Woodruff followed the Prattville officer to an apartment complex off Covered Bridge Parkway in Prattville, where they were advised of a gunshot victim lying on the ground nearby; upon locating the victim, Trooper Woodruff immediately began rendering lifesaving first aid; and WHEREAS, after identifying two gunshot wounds to the victim's left side, Trooper Woodruff quickly removed the victim's clothing, applied a sterilized clotting agent, and Page victim's clothing, applied a sterilized clotting agent, and HJR235 Enrolled applied gauze with direct pressure to the wounds, thereby stemming further blood loss; and WHEREAS, Trooper Woodruff continued …
