An Act, EXTENDING THE CHRONIC WEIGHT MANAGEMENT AND TYPE 2 DIABETES TASK FORCE. WHEREAS, House Joint Resolution 163, enacted as Act 2023-260 of the 2023 Regular Session, created the Chronic Weight Management and Type 2 Diabetes Task Force to study the health implications of chronic weight management and type 2 diabetes; and WHEREAS, Act 2023-260 provided that the task force would submit findings and recommendations to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and the chairs of the appropriate legislative committees no later than the fifteenth legislative day of the 2025 Regular Session, at which time the task force would be dissolved; and WHEREAS, House Joint Resolution 97, enacted as Act 2025-79 of the 2025 Regular Session, extended the task force; and WHEREAS, the task force needs an additional year in order to continue to develop recommendations relating to the issue of health implications of chronic weight management and type 2 diabetes; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Chronic Weight Management and Type 2 Diabetes Task Force, created pursuant to Act 2023-260, 2023 Regular Session, is extended.
