An Act, COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE RHETT MARQUES FOR DISTINGUISHED LEGISLATIVE SERVICE. WHEREAS, it is with highest admiration and deepest respect that we commend Representative Rhett Marques, currently serving as a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 91, for his tireless devotion and contributions to the people of the State of Alabama; and WHEREAS, he has served two terms in the Legislature since being elected in 2018 as a proven conservative fighter with a strong record of putting the needs of Alabama's families first; and WHEREAS, Representative Marques was born and raised in Spanish Fort, Alabama; after graduating from Fairhope High School in 1990, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from The University of Alabama in 1994; and WHEREAS, in his professional career, Representative Marques served as the owner and manager of Goodson Tire & Auto in Enterprise, Alabama; his business acumen and leadership skills were instrumental in his successful election to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2018; and WHEREAS, during his two terms in the Legislature, Representative Marques has served with honesty and Page Representative Marques has served with honesty and HJR308 Enrolled integrity, playing a pivotal role in delivering over $1.5 billion in tax relief, including the successful repeal of the state sales tax on groceries and the elimination of taxes on …
