An Act, COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE TRACY ESTES FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE STATE OF ALABAMA. WHEREAS, it is with great admiration and deep respect that we commend Representative Tracy Estes, currently serving his second term as a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, for his many accomplishments and tireless devotion to our state, particularly in matters involving education, public safety, and advocacy for children and seniors; and WHEREAS, since his first election in 2018, Representative Estes has served as a positive and principled advocate for the people of Alabama's 17th District, which includes Lamar, Marion, and Winston Counties; and WHEREAS, John Tracy Estes, born on June 20, 1967, graduated from The University of Alabama in 1989 with a Bachelor's degree in News Editorial Journalism; following graduation, Representative Estes worked for The Tuscaloosa News and The Montgomery Advertiser sports department before taking a news editor position at the Journal-Record Newspaper in Marion County; and WHEREAS, during his time as an editor, Representative Estes became a member of the Marion County Republican Party, the Alabama Association of School Boards Board of Directors, and the Winfield Chamber of Commerce; he worked as an editor for 27 years before retiring to run for public office; and Page for 27 years before retiring to run for public office; and HJR311 Enrolled WHEREAS, he has …
