An Act, SJR___ COMMENDING NORTH SAND MOUNTAIN GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2026 ALABAMA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSIOCIATION 2A STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. WHEREAS, highest commendations are herein proudly presented to the North Sand Mountain High School Girls Basketball Team, located in Higdon, Alabama, on winning the 2026 Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 2A State Basketball Championship; and WHEREAS, through teamwork, diligence, and a commitment to excellence, the North Sand Mountain Bisons took the 41-28 victory over Cold Springs, making history by claiming the school's first state title; and WHEREAS, the Bison's point guard, Kayden Reyes, was named the State Finals Most Valuable Player scoring points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals; and WHEREAS, the game began with the Bisons starting off with an 11-0 lead as Cold Springs missed its first 10 shots; North Sand Mountain held an 11-point lead at halftime; the Cold Springs Eagles narrowed the gap to five points in the third quarter; North Sand Mountain regained control with a decisive 6-0 run to start the fourth quarter, putting the game in point guard Reyes' hands to protect the ball and run the clock; in the final seconds, Reyes flashed a smile signifying the historic win for the North Sand Mountain Page signifying the historic win for the North Sand Mountain SJR78 Enrolled …
