An Act, SJR___ COMMENDING WILLIAM RILEY HAWKINS, JR. ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM AARP ALABAMA. WHEREAS, William Riley "Bill" Hawkins, Jr. of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, has exemplified a lifelong devotion to service, integrity, and community engagement, which are qualities instilled in him from his parents, Frances and William R. "B.B." Hawkins of Sumter County; and WHEREAS, Bill's path led him from his roots in rural Alabama, via Tuscaloosa, to Birmingham, where he met and married his devoted wife, Gina, with whom he has shared more than 20 years of marriage and the joy of raising their beloved daughter, Caroline, who is the light of his life; and WHEREAS, Bill retires from AARP Alabama, following a distinguished career of more than two decades of dedicated advocacy on behalf of Alabama's seniors, during which he worked tirelessly to promote their well-being, independence, and protection from fraud and exploitation; and WHEREAS, prior to his tenure at AARP, Bill served in roles of increasing responsibility at Brookwood Hospital; East End Memorial Hospital, now St. Vincent's East; Mayer Electric; and the Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation, consistently demonstrating excellence, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life Page an unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life SJR110 Enrolled for others; and WHEREAS, Bill's service extends well beyond his professional obligations, including a deep …
