An Act, SJR___ COMMENDING UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVE RETIRED BRIGADIER GENERAL VANDIVER H. CARTER ON BEING SELECTED AS THE 2026 MARION MILITARY INSTITUTE ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR. WHEREAS, it is an honor to extend highest commendations to United States Army Reserve Retired Brigadier General (BG) Vandiver H. Carter on being selected as the 2026 Marion Military Institute (MMI) Alumnus of the Year; and WHEREAS, this honor reflects not only BG Carter's accomplishments as an alumnus but also his extraordinary and sustained commitment to the Institute; over the past years of service on the MMI Board of Trustees, he has provided steady leadership, wise counsel, and unwavering advocacy for MMI's mission; his dedication to ensuring the continued strength and relevance of MMI has made a lasting impact on the institution and the Corps of Cadets it serves; and WHEREAS, Brigadier General Vandiver H. Carter, USAR was born in Selma, Alabama, and graduated from Albert G.
