STATEOFALASKA THE LEGISLATURE Legislative Source Resolve No. CSHCR 6(MLV) 17 Commemorating the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. _______________ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: WHEREAS November 10, 2025, signifies the 250th birthday of the establishment of the United States Marine Corps; and WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps has played an integral role in shaping the history of our nation and holds a cherished place in the hearts of Alaskans and all Americans; and WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps exemplifies the principles of honor, courage, and commitment, motivating countless individuals to serve and protect the United States; and WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps has an esteemed legacy of preparedness and dedication, with members serving with distinction in both conflict and peacetime; and WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps has proven its adaptability, evolving to meet emerging threats and safeguarding the nation's security from its inception to the present; and WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps originated at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia -1- Enrolled HCR 6 on November 10, 1775, marking 250 years of service; and WHEREAS this milestone reflects the United States Marine Corps's exceptional skill, leadership, bravery, and sacrifice in every major United States conflict, from the Revolutionary War to the Global War on Terrorism, including historic battles such …
