State of Arkansas 95th General Assembly Fiscal Session, 2026 HR 1036 By: Representative Dalby HOUSE RESOLUTION TO COMMEMORATE THE CENTENNIAL OF THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF TEXARKANA, INC. ON MAY 19, 2026. Subtitle TO COMMEMORATE THE CENTENNIAL OF THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF TEXARKANA, INC. ON MAY 19, 2026. WHEREAS, the first Junior League was founded in 1901 as a charitable nonprofit organization of women and joined together with other Junior Leagues in 1921 to form an association now known as The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the Junior League of Texarkana, Inc. is an organization of women in the Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas area whose mission is to advance women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training; and WHEREAS, in 1926, a group of civically minded women met at the home of Mrs. A. H. Whitmarsh to discuss the formation of an organization that would become the Junior League of Texarkana, Inc., and later held a charter luncheon and elected officers on February 26, 1926; and WHEREAS, from its inception, the Junior League of Texarkana, Inc. patterned its constitution on the constitution of the Association of Junior Leagues of America with the intention of becoming part of that organization, and subsequently achieved that goal in 1947; and *ZRC193* 04/16/2026 10:54:29 AM ZRC193 HR1036 …
