Berry, Dukes, Gray, Heffernan, Hilovsky, Phillips, Ross Levin, Shupe, Snyder-Hall DELAWARE STATE SENATE 153rd GENERAL ASSEMBLY SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 204 RECOGNIZING THE VALUABLE CONTRIBUTION THAT THE LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL MAKES TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES, AS WELL AS TO THE WORLD AT LARGE, BY DESIGNATING JUNE 12, 2026, AS "DELAWARE LIONS CLUBS DAY" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE. WHEREAS, Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service organization with more than 1.4 million members in more than 50,000 clubs in over 200 countries; and WHEREAS, founded in 1917, Lions Clubs International is best known for fighting blindness by conducting vision screenings, equipping hospitals and clinics, distributing medical equipment, and raising awareness of eye disease and other laudable activities; and WHEREAS, Lions Clubs also support a wide range of community projects, including environmental stewardship, hunger relief, youth programs, childhood cancer support, and assistance for seniors and individuals with disabilities; and WHEREAS, in fiscal year 2024-2025, the Lions Clubs International Foundation impacted lives around the world through 1,890 grants totaling more than $44.5 million; and WHEREAS, the Lions Clubs International Foundation was ranked the number one non-governmental organization in a 2007 study by The Financial Times, a distinction reaffirmed by …
