A resolution recognizing and commending Santa Fe College on its 60th anniversary. WHEREAS, Santa Fe College was established by the Florida Legislature in 1965 to expand access to higher education for the citizens of North Central Florida, and WHEREAS, Santa Fe College earned national recognition for its excellence and student success, most notably being awarded the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence in 2015, recognizing it as the top community college in the United States, and WHEREAS, Santa Fe College's support for United States military veterans and their families earned the institution distinctions from Best for Vets, and in 2025 the college ranked 1st in the Florida College System, 2nd in this state, and 9th in the nation for veterans, and WHEREAS, Santa Fe College was one of only five institutions across the country to be recognized as a 2025 Impact and Success Award winner, and WHEREAS, more Santa Fe College students transfer to the University of Florida, the flagship institution of the State University System, than from any other college in this state, and WHEREAS, Santa Fe College has been recognized with a HR 8107 2026 hr8107-00 Page 2 of FLORIDAHOUSEOFREPRESENTATIVES Carnegie Classification for increased student access and graduates earning more than 30 percent over the national average, NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives …
