A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General is responsible for prosecuting misdemeanor crimes on behalf of the State of Georgia and the citizens of Henry County; and WHEREAS, the Victim Services Division of the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General is designed to assist crime victims throughout the various stages of the judicial process; and WHEREAS, each case involving a victim is assigned to a victim advocate within the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General who ensures that victims are informed of their rights, provided with available resources, and given additional assistance as needed; and WHEREAS, in 2024, the Victim Services Division of the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General provided assistance to approximately 975 victims affected by misdemeanor criminal cases; and H. R. LC 112 2885 WHEREAS, February 5, 2025, marks Stand With Survivors Day at the state capitol, a day dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for the rights and safety of domestic violence survivors; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable office be appropriately honored during this special time.
