A RESOLUTION Honoring the life of Mr. Herman Douglas Everett and dedicating a road in his memory; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Mr. Herman Douglas Everett has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, Mr. Everett graduated from Sylvester High School and attended the Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia Southern University; and WHEREAS, he was the founder and president of Southern Appraisal Company, where he appraised commercial real estate for over 30 years; and WHEREAS, Mr. Everett's leadership was instrumental to organizations such as the Albany Planning and Zoning Commission and the Albany City Commission, where he served as mayor pro tem for two terms; and WHEREAS, he was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1996 before serving on the Georgia Public Service Commission for almost two decades; and H. R. 1578 LC 39 4993 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating a road in his memory. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the portion of State Route 133 from State Route 112 to Bridgeboro-Anderson City Road in Worth County is …
