A RESOLUTION Recognizing Mayor A.R. "Rick" Roberts III and dedicating an intersection in his honor; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Mayor A.R. "Rick" Roberts III has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced dramatically by his superlative service as mayor of Ball Ground, Georgia; and WHEREAS, during his tenure, Mayor Roberts expanded Ball Ground's sanitary sewer system by increasing the water capacity seven fold; upgraded several city government buildings including a new city hall, fire station, police station, library, senior center, and post office; and revitalized and expanded the many beautiful parks and recreational areas of Ball Ground such as Calvin Farmer Park and Roberts Lake Trail; and WHEREAS, his vision and leadership lead to Ball Ground obtaining approval for a truck bypass, the widening of Old Dawsonville Road, and the expansion of city sidewalks H. R. 1580 LC 39 5028 connecting over 50 percent of residents to downtown, revitalizing the city for citizens and tourists; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable and distinguished …
