A RESOLUTION Recognizing the leadership of President Donald J. Trump; commending the courage and professionalism of the United States Armed Forces; acknowledging the killing and elimination of the authoritarian dictator Ayatollah Ali Khameini; expressing solidarity with the Iranian people in their pursuit of freedom and self-determination; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the United States Armed Forces continue to demonstrate extraordinary courage, professionalism, and sacrifice in defense of the United States, its allies, and the principles of liberty and security around the world; and WHEREAS, members of the United States military regularly undertake complex and dangerous missions to counter regimes and organizations that threaten global peace, sponsor terrorism, and destabilize regions critical to international security; and WHEREAS, President Donald J. Trump, as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States, demonstrated decisive leadership in confronting the Iranian regime and authorizing military action to protect American interests, defend allied nations, and promote stability in the Middle East; and H.
