A RESOLUTION Creating the House Study Committee on State Governance of Emergency Medical Services; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the provision of emergency medical services is a matter of substantial importance to this state's citizens; and WHEREAS, the Department of Public Health is one of four health agencies serving this state's growing population of over 11 million citizens and serves as the lead state agency overseeing the administration of emergency medical services in this state; and WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to study the structure and administration of state governance of emergency medical services to evaluate whether any action by the state is warranted to ensure efficient and economical operations at the state level or to better serve the public welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES: (1) Creation of House study committee. There is created the House Study Committee on State Governance of Emergency Medical Services. H. R. 1674 LC 60 0345 (2) Members and officers. The committee shall be composed of five members of the House of Representatives to be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The Speaker shall designate a member of the committee as chairperson of the committee. (3) Powers and duties.
