A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Terrell Academy Lady Eagles basketball team for winning the 2026 GIAA AAA Basketball State Championship; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Terrell Academy Lady Eagles basketball team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of basketball competition by posting an outstanding record of 23 wins and only five losses; and WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school and to Terrell County by winning the 2026 GIAA AAA Basketball State Championship against Lakeview Academy with a final score of 51 to 48; and WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Eric Israel who was named District 3 AAA Coach of the Year and GIAA AAA Coach of the Year; and H.
