A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Sandra Lee Williams; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Sandra Lee Williams has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, Sandra serves as the President of the Atlanta North Georgia Labor Council and the Deputy Political Director for the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union; and WHEREAS, she is on the Executive Board of the Cherokee County NAACP, where she initiated a STEM Scholarship and was a recipient of the National Benjamin Hooks, Keeper of the Flame Award; the Executive Board of the Cherokee County Georgia Democratic Party; the Democratic Party of Georgia; and is a member of the Democratic National Committee; and WHEREAS, she also sits on the Boards of WorkSource Atlanta, WorkSource Cobb, Georgia Alliance for Progress, and the transportation oversight committees for the City of Atlanta and the State NAACP; and H. R. 1851 LC 129 1436 WHEREAS, Sandra's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and WHEREAS, Sandra has served with honor and distinction as a …
