A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Murray County High School Girls Varsity basketball team for winning the 2026 GHSA Class AA State Basketball Championship; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Murray County High School Girls Varsity basketball team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of basketball competition by posting an outstanding record of 27 wins and only four losses; and WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable 2026 campaign, the team captured its first state basketball championship title in 61 years; and WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by winning the 2026 GHSA AA State Basketball Championship against a formidable opponent with a final score of to 48; and H.
