A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Sylvia Goalen; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Sylvia Goalen has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by her over 15 years of superlative service as the Division Director of Traffic Safety and Roadway Operations; and WHEREAS, Sylvia's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and WHEREAS, during her tenure as the Division Director of Traffic Safety and Roadway Operations, Sylvia has led leadership in traffic safety programs; expanded community outreach and education by representing the Department of Transportation on public forums, including Spanish-language radio, keeping residents informed about roadway safety, H. R. 1965 LC 129 1454 maintenance, transit, and construction updates; and coordinated multi-department transportation projects, including roadway safety improvements, maintenance coordination, and community-requested traffic calming measures; and WHEREAS, in addition to her astute leadership in Traffic Safety and Roadway Operations, Sylvia is …
