A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Morgan County boys basketball team for winning the 2026 GHSA Class AA State Basketball Championship; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Morgan County boys basketball team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of basketball competition, ending the season with a 20 game winning streak; and WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable 2026 campaign, the team captured its fourth state basketball championship; and WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school and to Morgan County, having several individual athletes earn prestigious awards and recognitions; and WHEREAS, this all-star team included AA State Player of the Year, AA State Championship MVP, AA All-State Selection, and Region 2-AA Player of the Year, Zeki Locus; AA All-State Selection and Region 2-AA 1st Team Selection, Trey Carter; Region 2-AA 1st H.
