A RESOLUTION Commending Danny Hall; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Danny Hall began his exemplary coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Miami University, from 1978 to 1979, and he continued to develop his expertise over eight seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan; and WHEREAS, he earned his first head coaching position at Kent State University, serving from 1988 to 1993 and leading the program to two Mid-American Conference championships while receiving recognition as a two-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year; and WHEREAS, in 1994, Danny Hall became the head coach at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where over 32 seasons he built one of the most successful programs in collegiate baseball history and compiled a remarkable 1,244-676 record; and WHEREAS, under his leadership, the Georgia Tech baseball program captured eight Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season championships and five Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament championships, earned 25 NCAA Tournament appearances, and advanced to three College World Series appearances; and H. R. 2009 LC 112 3972 WHEREAS, his commitment to the development of student-athletes is evidenced by his mentorship of 149 Georgia Tech players who were selected in the Major League Baseball Draft a total of 166 times, as well as 15 Georgia Tech players who earned Academic All-America recognition a combined 19 times; and …
