A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of John Widner Adams; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of John Widner Adams; and WHEREAS, John Widner Adams was born on May 8, 1928, in Carrollton, Georgia, a beloved son of Mary Carolyn Widner Adams and Isaac Olin Adams; and WHEREAS, he served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans during the Korean War; and WHEREAS, following his military service, he dedicated his professional career to serving rural Georgia as a soil conservationist, providing expert guidance in land stewardship, water management, and agricultural sustainability; and WHEREAS, John Widner Adams volunteered countless hours of his time and energy toward his community, including his work with the Lyons Recreation Department to design and improve athletic facilities at Partin Park; and H. R. 2014 LC 112 4146 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Addie, and was cherished by his loved ones as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who demonstrated unwavering love and commitment; and WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he …
