A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr.; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr. has demonstrated his commitment to teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and WHEREAS, on April 9, 2026, Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr. will be inducted into the Morehouse College Board of Preachers during the 41st Annual Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministries and Lay Ceremony; and WHEREAS, his vision and direction have helped New Bethel A.M.E. Church grow in size and influence, uplifting the community like the light of Bethlehem and serving as a spiritual leader and place for fellowship; and WHEREAS, over the past years leading New Bethel A.M.E. Church, Reverend Dr. William E. Thomas Jr. has established numerous programs and workshops which have improved the spiritual and educational growth of the church and the surrounding community; and H. R. 2113 LC 112 4232 WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the sick, counseling the troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or humanitarian, Reverend Dr. William E.
