A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Senator Ed Harbison; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Senator Ed Harbison has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, first elected to the Georgia State Senate in 1992, Senator Ed Harbison represents the citizens of Macon, Marion, Talbot, Taylor, and Schley counties, as well as portions of Chattahoochee County and Muscogee County; and WHEREAS, he currently serves as chairman of the State Institutions and Property Committee; ranking member of the Banking and Financial Institutions, Insurance and Labor, Interstate Cooperation, Reapportionment and Redistricting, and Ethics committees; and vice chairman of Veterans, Military and Homeland Security committee; and WHEREAS, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Purple Heart recipient, he is responsible for the legislation that designated Georgia as a Purple Heart State, created a separate court for veterans, and established the Military Hall of Fame in Georgia; and S.
