A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Nelson I. Adelman; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Nelson I. Adelman on February 26, 2026; and WHEREAS, Nelson I. Adelman was born in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York, and his early years revolved around his passion for the Brooklyn Dodgers and his Orthodox Hebrew School education; and WHEREAS, after his family moved to Queens, he secured a full athletic scholarship to New York University, where he received his degree in business and captained his college's track and cross country teams; and WHEREAS, Nelson I. Adelman served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army Reserves, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans during the Cuban Missile Crisis; and S. R. 1035 LC 112 4073 WHEREAS, after moving to Atlanta in 1971 with his growing family, he became a devoted Braves fan and founded the Adelman Sales Corporation, which became highly successful under his exceptional leadership; and WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Donna, and was blessed with two remarkable sons, David and Mark; five wonderful grandchildren, Oscar, Leah, Avery, Justice, and Ellis; and a magnificent great-grandson, Chase; and WHEREAS, during his …
