A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Wilcox County High School Lady Patriots basketball team for winning the 2026 GHSA Class A Division II Girls Basketball Championship; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Wilcox County High School Lady Patriots basketball team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of basketball competition by posting an outstanding record of 29 wins and only one loss; and WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable 2026 campaign, the team captured its second consecutive state basketball championship; and WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to Wilcox County by winning the 2026 GHSA Class A Division II Girls Basketball Championship against Washington-Wilkes High School with a final score of 48 to 39; and S.
