A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Senator Elena Parent on her outstanding public service; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Senator Elena Parent has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2014, Senator Elena Parent represents the 44th Senate District, including portions of DeKalb and Clayton counties, and previously represented Senate District 42, serving portions of central and north DeKalb County; and WHEREAS, she currently serves as chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus and as a member of the Senate Committees on Education and Youth, Judiciary, Appropriations, and Government Oversight; and WHEREAS, she has further contributed through active membership in the Senate DeKalb Delegation, the Working Families Legislative Caucus, and the Women's Legislative Caucus; and S.
