A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Daniel Waldon Wright Jr.; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Daniel Waldon Wright Jr. on March 7, 2026; and WHEREAS, known as "Deacon Dan," Daniel Waldon Wright Jr. was cherished by his loved ones as a man of devotion and faith; and WHEREAS, a proud Savannah native, he was a dedicated educator who served his fellow citizens as president of the Georgia Association of Educators; and WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Apostle Dr. Gloria Ward Wright, and was blessed with two remarkable children, Angeleque and Byron, as well as numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his family and friends were admired by others; and S.
