A RESOLUTION Commending and congratulating Julia Lee Jackson Dobbs; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Julia Lee Jackson Dobbs was born on June 20, 1926, to Claudia Smith and John Jackson Sr., and this year she enjoys the rare distinction of celebrating her 100th birthday; and WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Julia Lee Jackson Dobbs spent her early years in Smith Chapel AME Church, a congregation built by her grandparents, and later became a devoted member of Brooks Memorial Methodist Church, where she is proudly recognized today as the church's oldest living member; and WHEREAS, throughout her life, she has dedicated innumerable hours of her time and energy toward her community, serving as president of multiple Parent Teacher Associations, working in public school systems, and owning and operating a successful restaurant and catering business for 50 years; and WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided the foundation of success from which her family members have developed and flourished, H. R. 4EX LC 112 4258 as evidenced by her two remarkable sons, Jeffrey and Bruce, as well as her three wonderful grandchildren, Ashley, Solomon, and Ananda; and WHEREAS, at 100 years old, Julia Lee Jackson Dobbs continues to inspire those around her with her energy, humor, and love of dancing, laughter, and time spent with …
