A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and legacy of Sister Ella Mae Harrison Mickens; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Sister Ella Mae Harrison Mickens was born on November 26, 1926, in Havana, Florida, to the late Goldie Ervin Harrison and John Spencer Harrison; and WHEREAS, Sister Ella Mae Harrison Mickens was a woman of unwavering faith, strength, and dignity who lived her life with grace, compassion, and determination; and WHEREAS, she was a faithful and devoted member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where her spiritual foundation and love for God guided her throughout her life; and WHEREAS, Sister Mickens was known as a hardworking and dedicated woman who labored in the tobacco fields and later served as a Supervisor at the Crab Factory in Havana, Florida, demonstrating leadership, perseverance, and a strong work ethic; and WHEREAS, she was united in holy matrimony to Arthur Mickens, and together they built a loving family and were blessed with nine children, all of whom she nurtured with wisdom, discipline, and unconditional love; and H.
