A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Speaker Jon Burns and Mrs. Dayle Burns upon the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, on June 26, 1976, following their graduation from Georgia Southern University, Jon and Dayle were united in marriage before family, friends, and loved ones at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Bartow, Florida, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in faith, love, mutual respect, and an unwavering commitment to one another; and WHEREAS, as they celebrate the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary, they mark a milestone that reflects five decades of enduring devotion, shared purpose, and steadfast support through every season of life; and WHEREAS, together they have built a loving family, raising two sons, Jon Guerry Burns and Wilson Burns, and delighting in the blessings of five beloved grandchildren--Jon David, Ava, Elizabeth, Georgia, and Lila--whose lives stand as a testament to the values of faith, integrity, and compassion instilled by their grandparents; and WHEREAS, their grandchildren have expressed profound gratitude for the impact Jon and Dayle Burns have had on their lives, sharing that Jon and Dayle's commitment to one another H.
