A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Mrs. Florine Jackson Thompson upon the grand occasion of her 100th birthday; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Mrs. Florine Jackson Thompson, a beloved citizen of Columbus, Georgia, will celebrate her 100th birthday on June 18, 2026, marking a remarkable century of faith, grace, service, and kindness; and WHEREAS, born on June 18, 1926, in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, Mrs. Thompson has witnessed and contributed to a century of history while remaining a shining example of dignity, perseverance, and compassion; and WHEREAS, she attended Claflin Elementary School and graduated from Spencer High School before continuing her education at Spelman College alongside her sister, Mary Jackson, where they pursued studies in music until family responsibilities called them home; and WHEREAS, a lifetime member of Rose Hill Memorial Baptist Church, Mrs. Thompson has faithfully served her church and community since joining as a teenager, exemplifying unwavering devotion to her faith and a steadfast commitment to uplifting others; and S.
