HR1034LRB104 23365 LAW 39838 r HR1034 LRB104 23365 LAW 39838 r HR1034 LRB104 23365 LAW 39838 r HOUSE RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Robert "Mike" Wehman Sr., who passed away on September 18, 2026; and WHEREAS, Mike Wehman was born to William and Emily (Majercik) Wehman in Chicago on September 2, 1944; during his childhood years, he lived in Chicago, Downers Grove, and later West Chicago, where he attended high school and participated in track and varsity football; and WHEREAS, Mike Wehman attended Illinois State University before enlisting in the United States Navy, where he trained as a radioman in San Diego, California; he served aboard the USS Wright, the USS Charles S. Sperry, and the USS Benewah, and he also served with a riverine squadron in Vietnam's Mekong Delta; aboard the Sperry, he took part in a goodwill tour through the Middle East and Africa; he was honorably discharged in San Francisco, California; and WHEREAS, Mike Wehman married Jeanne Schaller in 1970, and they settled in Chicago's East Lakeview neighborhood, where he worked and attended night classes at the University of Illinois Chicago's Circle Campus; their family proceeded to HR1034- 2 -LRB104 23365 LAW 39838 r HR1034 - 2 - LRB104 23365 LAW 39838 r …
