Christensen on the occasion of his retirement as general president of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC); and WHEREAS, Frank Christensen joined IUEC Local 2 in Chicago upon his high school graduation in 1979; after 15 years of trade experience, he began his elected service as an executive board member and vice president from 1994 to 1998; he subsequently served as executive board secretary, acting business representative, joint apprenticeship committee board member, and president; and WHEREAS, Frank Christensen was appointed IUEC Local business manager in September 2001, elected to the role in November 2001, and reelected four times, becoming the longest-serving business manager in branch history; during his tenure, he was appointed three times as first vice president of the IUEC, served as a trustee of the National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP), and served as the first chairman of the Illinois Elevator Safety Review Board for years; and WHEREAS, Frank Christensen was unanimously elected general HR1051- 2 -LRB104 23336 RMO 39809 r HR1051 - 2 - LRB104 23336 RMO 39809 r HR1051 - 2 - LRB104 23336 RMO 39809 r president of the IUEC by …
