HR1057LRB104 23530 LAW 40010 r HR1057 LRB104 23530 LAW 40010 r HR1057 LRB104 23530 LAW 40010 r HOUSE RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Nicholas Brooks on the occasion of achieving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in Scouting America, and the Eagle Scout Award is one of the most involved and transformative experiences a young person can have, allowing them to try new things through the merit badge program, develop confidence in the outdoors, practice leadership tactics, and plan, develop, and spearhead a service project that benefits their community; and WHEREAS, Nicholas Brooks, a member of Troop 104, conducted his Eagle Scout service project at a local church by providing updates to a room in the children's ministry, where he built seven custom bookcases and painted the room to create a refreshed, functional, and welcoming space for the children; and WHEREAS, Through his Eagle Scout service project, Nicholas Brooks learned the importance of planning, leadership, and giving back to the community; he also developed practical skills in project management, organization, teamwork, and HR1057- 2 -LRB104 23530 LAW 40010 r HR1057 - 2 - LRB104 23530 LAW 40010 r HR1057 - 2 - LRB104 23530 LAW 40010 r construction, including measuring, woodworking, and painting; …
