*HR1509* Introduced Version HOUSE RESOLUTION No. ___ Introduced by: Andrade ____________________________________ A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring Ron Ware on the occasion of his retirement. Whereas, Ron Ware completed the Iron Workers Local apprenticeship program in 1989 and was first elected as an officer of Local 395 in 1996, marking the beginning of decades of trusted leadership within the ironworkers community; Whereas, In June 2014, Ron was elected business manager of Iron Workers Local 395, a position he has honorably held, leading the local with integrity while advocating for worker safety, fair wages, and strong labor standards; Whereas, Since 2014, Ron has served as a trustee of the Mid-America Pension Fund and the Local 395 Health & Welfare and Annuity Funds, currently holding the position of chairman, ensuring the financial security and well-being of HR 1509/DI 140 2026 ironworkers and their families; Whereas, Ron has expanded his leadership across the region through his service as president of the Northwest Indiana Building & Construction Trades Council since May 2021 and as secretary-treasurer of the Iron Workers District Council of Chicago since November 2023; and Whereas, In addition to his labor leadership, Ron has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service as a member of the Little Calumet River Basin Development Commission since December 2017, contributing to responsible regional development and community stewardship: Therefore, …
