*HR1510* Introduced Version HOUSE RESOLUTION No. ___ Introduced by: Andrade, Jackson C, Smith V, Hatcher, Olthoff, Slager, Harris, Aylesworth, Novak, Pressel, Moseley ____________________________________ A HOUSE RESOLUTION honoring the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana for its service and dedication to the communities and families of Northwest Indiana. Whereas, Under the visionary leadership of Victor Garcia, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, the organization has expanded its capacity, strengthened community partnerships, and advanced innovative strategies to combat hunger while ensuring operational excellence, accountability, and compassionate service; Whereas, The Food Bank operates a 72,000-square-foot facility in Merrillville, staffed by 34 dedicated employees, and is equipped with custom-built cold storage and a fleet of refrigerated trucks and vans that ensure the safe collection and distribution of donated food; HR 1510/DI 140 2026 Whereas, In 2025, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana distributed more than 11 million pounds of food, serving an average of over 60,000 individuals each month through a strong network of over 150 partner non-profits, food pantries, congregate meal sites, and soup kitchens; Whereas, The Food Bank delivers critical direct service programs, including Mobile Market, The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) that provides home-delivered groceries to 1,700 seniors monthly, Food is Medicine initiatives in partnership with health care providers, Operation …
