*HR1515* Introduced Version HOUSE RESOLUTION No. ___ Introduced by: Baird ____________________________________ A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing the Indiana Trail Riders Association. Whereas, On May 16, 2025, an EF-2 tornado struck Brown County State Park, causing significant damage to the horsemen's campground, totaling millions of dollars; Whereas, The tornado uprooted multiple trees and severed the underground electrical wiring within the campground, delaying plans to connect the area to Wi-Fi. Tragically, one horse lost its life due to the storm; Whereas, In response to the devastation, the Indiana Trail Riders Association organized cleanup efforts, dedicating thousands of volunteer hours and providing necessary equipment. They also continued to assist following subsequent storms that caused additional damage to the park; and HR 1515/DI 140 2026 Whereas, Although the horsemen's campground was closed for part of the summer, the hard work of the Indiana Trail Riders Association's volunteers allowed for 85 percent of the horse trails to reopen by October 2025: Therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana: SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives recognizes the volunteers from the Indiana Trail Riders Association who dedicated thousands of hours of labor to helping Brown County State Park recover from a tornado.
