*HR1547* Introduced Version HOUSE RESOLUTION No. ___ Introduced by: Lucas, Lauer ____________________________________ A HOUSE RESOLUTION congratulating the Trinity Lutheran High School girls volleyball team. Whereas, The Trinity Lutheran High School girls volleyball team captured their second consecutive IHSAA Class 1A state championship on November 8, 2025; Whereas, Despite graduating five of six starters from the 2024 season when the Trinity Lutheran Cougars captured their first state championship, they returned to the title match in 2025 and beat Faith Christian in four sets, 25-11, 25-15, 20-25, and 25-16; Whereas, Trinity Lutheran defeated Faith Christian in the 2024 state finals; Whereas, Head Coach Janet VanLiew attributes their HR 1547/DI 140 2026 resounding victory to the athletes' hard work, dedication, and belief in their system; Whereas, Senior Bailey Bonde was announced as the recipient of the Mental Attitude Award by the IHSAA Executive Committee. The Mental Attitude Award is annually presented to a senior nominated by her principal and coach, and has demonstrated excellence in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability during her four years of high school; and Whereas, The Cougars are proud to capture Trinity Lutheran High School's second state title: Therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana: SECTION 1.
