YODER , read first time and referred to Committee on 2026 DC 1904/DI ol Introduced Second Regular Session 124th General Assembly (2026) SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. _____ A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION memorializing Lee Herbert Hamilton. Whereas, Lee Herbert Hamilton was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, on April 20, 1931, and later moved to Indiana, where he spent the rest of his life; Whereas, Hamilton graduated from Evansville Central High School in 1948, and won the Arthur L. Trester award for his excellence in basketball; Whereas, Hamilton graduated with a degree in history from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, continuing his outstanding basketball career which earned him a spot in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982; Whereas, While in college, Hamilton was deeply involved in student government, serving on the school's Council on Religious Life and in the Methodist Student Movement, where he met his lifelong partner, Nancy Ann Nelson, who passed away in 2012; Whereas, After a year of study at the Goethe University in Germany, he graduated from the Indiana University School of Law in 1956, which led him into private practice; Whereas, He served as the chairman of the Bartholomew County Citizens, treasurer of the Bartholomew County Young Democrats from 1960-1963, and President from 1963-1964; 2026 DC 1904/DI ol Whereas, …
