BUCHANAN, DORIOT , read first time and referred to Committee on 2026 RR 3502/DI JR Introduced Second Regular Session 124th General Assembly (2026) SENATE RESOLUTION ____ MR. PRESIDENT: I offer the following resolution and move its adoption: A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Senator Andy Zay upon his retirement from the Indiana Senate. Whereas, Senator Andy Zay has faithfully and honorably served the constituents of Senate District 17, encompassing Grant, Huntington, and Wabash counties, since being elected in 2016; Whereas, During his tenure, Senator Zay served in a variety of roles, including on the Senate Committees on Commerce and Technology, Pensions and Labor, and Utilities, as ranking member of the Senate Committee on Environmental Affairs, and as Chair of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Financial Insitutions; Whereas, Hailing from Huntington, Indiana, Senator Zay prided himself on focusing on the needs of rural Hoosier communities; Whereas, In a major achievement while he was in office, Senator Zay authored Senate Enrolled Act 365 in 2019, which established the CarePortal in Indiana to connect the Department of Child Services and faith-based community 2026 RR 3502/DI JR programs to strengthen child welfare resources in local communities; Whereas, Senator Zay also authored …
