POL , read first time and referred to Committee on 2026 DR 3848/DI aj Introduced Second Regular Session 124th General Assembly (2026) SENATE RESOLUTION ____ MR. PRESIDENT: I offer the following resolution and move its adoption: A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Senator J.D. Ford upon his retirement. Whereas, Senator J.D. Ford came from humble beginnings, graduating as a first-generation college student, earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Criminal Justice from the University of Akron and a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Human Services from Purdue University; Whereas, Senator J.D. Ford has worked in higher education and the nonprofit sector, where he has held executive leadership roles dedicated to strengthening communities across Central Indiana; Whereas, Since 2018, Senator J.D. Ford has proudly served District 29, which includes parts of Boone, Hamilton, and Marion counties; Whereas, Senator J.D. Ford made Indiana history when elected, becoming the first and only out member of the LGBTQ+ community to serve in the Indiana General Assembly; 2026 DR 3848/DI aj Whereas, Throughout Senator J.D.
