Introduced Version SENATE RESOLUTION No. DIGEST OF INTRODUCED RESOLUTION A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing the importance and significance of a coalition entitled Solar Opportunities Indiana (SOI). Qaddoura February 16, 2026, read first time and referred to Committee on Utilities. 2026 SR 53--DR 3852/DI ol Introduced Second Regular Session 124th General Assembly (2026) SENATE RESOLUTION No. MR. PRESIDENT: I offer the following resolution and move its adoption: A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing the importance and significance of a coalition entitled Solar Opportunities Indiana (SOI). Whereas, Solar Opportunities Indiana (SOI) consists of municipalities, advocacy groups, post-secondary institutions, faith-based organizations, and renewable energy experts that support the deliverance of transformative solar financing and access programs for households in Indiana's low-income and disadvantaged communities; Whereas, Throughout Indiana, SOI provides education and outreach regarding solar installation and, for eligible households, reduces or eliminates up-front costs and financing gaps; Whereas, A competition was designed to spur the deployment of residential distributed solar energy to lower energy bills for millions of Americans and catalyze transformation in markets serving low-income and disadvantaged communities; 2026 SR 53--DR 3852/DI ol Whereas, For over two years, SOI and its coalition partners have planned and provided outreach for projects, but due to the lack of funding they are facing difficulties in moving forward and actualizing benefits for Indiana residents; Whereas, These projects include funding …
