Introduced Version SENATE RESOLUTION No. ___ DIGEST OF INTRODUCED RESOLUTION A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Sergeant Bill Spalding upon his retirement. BRAY , read first time and referred to Committee on 2026 RR 3535/DI JR Introduced Second Regular Session 124th General Assembly (2026) SENATE RESOLUTION ____ MR. PRESIDENT: I offer the following resolution and move its adoption: A SENATE RESOLUTION honoring Sergeant Bill Spalding upon his retirement. Whereas, William K. Spalding has served as an employee of the Indiana State Police since July 1989, after graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor's degree in public affairs and a minor in psychology; Whereas, After being assigned to the Lowell District as Probationary Trooper, Spalding was then assigned to the Seymour District as a Trooper; Whereas, In 1999, Spalding was promoted to Corporal while serving the Pendleton District, and two years later was promoted to Sergeant; Whereas, Spalding transferred to the Indianapolis District in 2010, and in 2018 was given a temporary duty assignment in State Police's legal department to provide security for the President Pro Tempore; Whereas, An ever-present figure around the Senate, Spalding has endeared himself amongst Senators, staff, and all 2026 RR 3535/DI JR who interact with him; Whereas, Outside of work, Spalding is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine, Indiana, has three sons, Ethan, Jacob, and …
