A BILL FOR An Act requesting a legislative interim study committee on affordability. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: TLSB 5754YH (3) sc/ns H.F. 2234 Section 1. INTERIM STUDY COMMITTEE ---- AFFORDABILITY. The legislative council is requested to establish a legislative interim study committee to meet during the 2026 interim to study and discuss issues relating to the affordability of transportation, housing, energy, health care, and food in Iowa. The committee shall submit its findings and recommendations to the general assembly by December 31, 2026. EXPLANATION The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. This bill requests the legislative council to establish a legislative interim study committee to meet during the 2026 interim to study and discuss issues relating to the affordability of transportation, housing, energy, health care, and food in Iowa.
